Gandhi Ashram

This Ashram is located at Kapas Hatia village of Jhaugra union of Melandah upazila. The Ashram was established with the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, the leader of India's non-violent Satyagraha movement against the British. In 1934, the peasant leader Nasir Uddin Sarkar established this ashram. This organization is working on philanthropy. During the Pakistani period, the Ashram was damaged several times by Pakistani rulers.
